Our Mission: celebrating the gospel in truth, life, and love
Every church has a mission. Sometimes churches aimlessly drift through their mission, unsure of their purpose or direction. Sometimes churches know their mission but fail to see how their programs and ministries serve that mission.
A church’s mission reflects its vision. The vision shows you where the church hopes to be, while the mission shows you how the church hopes to get there.
At Capitol City Christian Church, our mission progresses through three core values:
Gospel Truth. The gospel is a message to be treasured, the good news of all God has done to redeem and restore our fallen world. Its hope is immense and its implications are staggering. The gospel brings new life to non-believers and transforms believers. In our worship and teaching, we are committed to the proclamation of the gospel.
Gospel Life. The gospel is a power to be experienced, and that power is best revealed to the world by the community it forms and transforms. The church is not a place but a people, a living fellowship of God’s adopted sons and daughters, his plan to bring the message of the gospel to the world. In our fellowship, we are committed to living as people created and shaped by the gospel.
Gospel Love. The gospel calls us to mission, to share what has been received. As a church, we are committed to sharing the love of Christ with our families, friends, and neighbors, in northeast Lincoln, Lancaster County, and to the ends of the earth. Like Christ’s love for us, this love will be tangible not abstract, expressed in deed and word. We are committed to sharing the love of the gospel through service, ministry, evangelism, and missions.
Thus we set about our mission at Capitol City Christian Church by celebrating the gospel in truth, life, and love.
