The God of Infinite Authority
Passage: Isaiah 46:1–46:11
Having considered who God is - infinite, self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal, etc. - we are left with one, necessary conclusion: God, and only God, belongs on the throne of heaven. He should be, and is, King over all things. Yet we all have “control issues.” We all fight for control over certain parts of our lives, hoping to sit in the seat of power and reign over that certain relationship, or that certain circumstance. How can we repent of our unholy desire for control and learn to rest in God’s perfect, sovereign authority?
