Sola Fide

August 20, 2017 Speaker: James Sharp Series: The Courage to be Protestant

Passage: Romans 3:21–3:26

The people of this world are on a mission - a mission to prove themselves. Just as Adam and Eve felt their nakedness after sinning in the Garden of Eden, we all feel that there is something wrong with us. We know that we just don’t measure up, so we try desperately to live life in a way that proves we’re somebody. We turn to all sorts of such self-salvation projects: work, family, retirement, and even religion. But they all turn up empty. The only way to feel at peace with who we are and with the world around us is to return to the immense privileges of justification by faith alone.
