Our Mission

People helping people find and follow Jesus!

God has given every church a mission - to make disciples of all nations. Capitol City Christian Church exists to glorify Jesus Christ by proclaiming the good news of God’s salvation plan to Lincoln, Nebraska, and the world. We desire to inspire people to repent and trust in him, to grow through daily obedience and worship, all while loving our neighbors as God has loved us.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

— Matthew 28:19–20

Our Values

We CONNECT people to a life-long journey with Jesus.

We connect first to God. He makes it possible to be restored to Him and believers in the church.

God loves us and wants us to love Him back, forming a relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus. By connecting with Jesus, we can know God intimately. God also desires us to build meaningful relationships with others. We are all part of God’s family.

(Mark 12:29-31, Hebrews 10:24-25)

We GROW in our relationship with God and others through Biblical Truth

God accepts us as we are and wants us to grow in love, character, and spiritual maturity.

Life-on-life, authentic relationships grounded in love are the best environment for growing closer to God and others. One place where this can happen is in our community groups.

(Romans 12:2 and 2 Peter 3:18)

We SERVE the Church, our community, and the world with our God-given resources.

God has given us talents to help others. Serving is essential for growing our relationship with God and others.

Serving together matches our gifts with opportunities and provides new challenges and discoveries.

(1 Peter 4:10-11)

We GO and make disciples.

We are called to go out into the world equipped to serve, share, and invest in the lives of our community—near and far. We are called to make disciples who make disciples of Jesus in our homes and in the world. Every follower of Jesus can help influence their local and global neighbors through serving and sharing the gospel.

(Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15)
